Offenders released to Franklin County
In 2000 1,383
offenders under the age of 36 years were released. Between
2002-2005 approximately 3,885 offenders were released to
Ohio’s Community-Oriented Reentry program (CORE).

According
to the National Institute of Corrections, there are 118 jail
facilities in Ohio. Their combined rated capacity is 20,052; the
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction manages 45,854
inmates; the Division of Parole and Community Services, Dept. of
Rehabilitation & Correction provides parole services statewide and
probation services in 43 counties. There are 239,036
probationers and 19,512 parolees in Ohio.

What
we KNOW is of little value if we don’t respond with Care !.
Research
indicates that children become
radically present-oriented, unable to defer immediate
gratifications. They also become radically self-regarding, unable
to feel the joy and pain of others.
The
increase in juvenile crime has been concentrated largely among
young African-American males.
What’s
needed are Increase in
employment opportunities and
discourage the breakdown of the
family.

in Community Involvement at
every level: public and educational institutions,
businesses, civic associations, families, and individuals
