Ruth Moss

Ruth C. Moss, a native of Charleston, West Virginia, has been actively engaged in the life of family since her introduction to the world through her parents David and Elynor Coleman.  She has two siblings, David and Kathryn Coleman.  The family moved to Columbus while in junior high or middle school.  She is a graduate of East High School. 

Mrs. Moss’s interests in family, education, and community were further developed during her tenure at Central State University.  While there, she enjoyed participation as a Varsity Cheerleader, Miss ROTC, member of Les Danseurs Touring Dance Troupe, and President of HPER Association.  She engaged in post graduate work at The Ohio State University. 

Her career as a committed and passionate educator began as a secondary Columbus Public School teacher; she was a coordinator for the Science Fairs and the judges.  Presently, her professional expertise and influence continues as Vice President of Danno Publishing Company and Vice President of Public Relations, HBCUCONNECT.COM. 

Her community and professional membership and activities include: the National Association of Black School Educators (NABSE), Teacher Mentor for Ohio State student teachers, officer and member of the National Association of University Women, Judge for the Ohio Miss Black Teenage Pageant, member of Friends of Freedom and Justice, YMCA, and YWCA.   

Mrs. Ruth Moss is the wife of the late Mr. William (Bill) R. Moss II and the mother of five  wonderful children: Sonya C. (Gary), Loren C., Daniel C. (Loretta), William R. III (Arawyma), and Elynor R. Moss.  She is a proud and loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Brandi, Careese, Gary, Kennedi, Rubi, William, Natalie and great grandchild Isaiah.
