Founder and Executive Director 1989-Present
During the summer of 1988, I began to experience intense motivation to work with
the families and children of our world. My involvement as an Adolescent Health
Coordinator had placed me in touch with many of the social maladies identified
as adolescent problems (e.g., drugs, violence, underachievement, etc.).
Simultaneously, while conducting a Discipleship Sunday School class at First
Church of God, 115 Wilson Avenue, Columbus, OH. My partner, Rhunette C. Diggs,
and I have realized that the characteristics of discipleship seemed to be the
solution to the core issues that produced the “so-called” adolescent problems.
Some of these characteristics include promoting self-discipline, being an
example (people with experience, knowledge and wisdom teaching others,) and to
become aware of the benefits of collective cooperation
Designed and developed two public forums in collaboration
with the First Church of God, Columbus, Ohio: 1) The
African/American Connection and 2) Building Families to
Rescue the Future Seminar.
